These confetti lights were born out of a desire to experiment, and represented a couple of firsts for me – they were my first larger segmented pieces (two or more pieces of wood joined together and then turned to shape), and my first confetti-style candle holders. The holders are made of a Curly Maple body with a slim Bocote top. After turning them to shape and sanding them smooth, I applied a dyed shellac finish which gave the grain in the Curly Maple a striking depth that pictures can’d do justice to. The pieces were then waxed using a furniture wax to give them a final protective layer. The pair of lights ship with confetti jars, wicks and a funnel to make pouring your oil easy (just make sure to remove the jars from the holders when filling, as the oil may damage the finish on the pieces). Due to its flammable nature, I’m unable to include lamp oil with these lights, but it is readily available at most large retailers.
